Types of film openings (part 1)

What are the different types of film openings?

Titles on a blank screen

Titles on a blank screen are the most common type of title sequence. This is because they involve different kinds of type faces on a black background , the are basic but affective. They do not cost   much but they fit the job of opening a film. Instead of image they tend to focus more on music and creating a build up to the film.

Titles on still images

Titles on a still image are more elaborate than a simple
white text on a  black background. They indicate a move
past just text but a way to incorporate text with a visual
image to hint at the tone. This happened when studios
                                began to support development.
