Task 1 – What is a Target Audience? H'wk

•          What is an audience? An audience is the assembled spectators or listeners at a public event such as a play, film, concert, or meeting.
•         How do we define target audiences?  a particular group of people who all share a common interest, or value,  at which a product such as a film or advertisement is aimed. Ask things like, Where are your target audience located? Are they male/female/other? Average age? etc.... 
•   Why is it useful for a film to have a target audience? It is useful as it can save money, and help you start your advertising for your product, and plan out your advertising.
• Which audiences to you think different genres appeal to? I think all genres could appeal to anybody, this includes animation for elderly people, etc... However, looking at BFI statistics, there does seem to be more men watching Action films, whereas  women watch everything.
