What makes a good title sequence according to Kyle Cooper

What makes a good title sequence according to Kyle Cooper

Kyle cooper is a very talented man who makes many successful well known title sequences, some of his most popular ones are Superman and Spiderman which had a huge impact on people. He believes that making a good title sequence for a film insists of having a good build up into the film so that the audience are so interested and wouldn't want to be anywhere other than watching the film. He thinks this because it is always good if the audience are complete hooked onto the film and feel apart of it. Another important thing he believes is crustal when making a title sequence is to ensure that the opening sets an expectation to make the audience excited so that they have something to look forward to. Tone also plays another important role , Kyle Cooper thinks that the film Seven had a good opening mainly because of the font used which looked like handwriting to create an effect that fitted in well with the theme which was dramatic thriller. He also likes the film Dead zone because of the simple but effective typography and the good music which sets the tone. Also To Kill A Mocking Bird because he said that it was photographed beautifully and everything contrasted well with each other.

Kyle Cooper used the phrase "story based" which in other words means the back story which gives us an idea of what the story is about. He says that test screening has disadvantages as well as advantages, one of them was that they might not have enough money to go back out and film if people had any criticisms. 2 and a half minuets of the title sequence become important for the studio because it allows people to add any left out information that they might of forgotten to add in while editing. Overall the main thing you need to do to ensure you have a successful sequence according to Kyle Cooper is to have a clear opening which sets the tempo.
